The first week, Regular Week One, is for pianists of all levels and for novice, intermediate and advanced string players We are one of the few camps which welcomes novice string players. The Novice String Program also includes Sight Reading Classes. We greatly enjoy watching the novice players flourish, growing from year to year and moving up to the next level.
The second week, Regular Week Two, is for pianists of all levels, intermediate and advanced string players, and intermediate and advanced woodwinds. There are no novices this week. If you, as a pianist, enjoy working with strings and/or woodwinds, this is the week for you. Summertrios has even been known to accommodate harp, guitar and trumpet players when they provide us with a list of potential repertoire to be played.
Audition
If you are new to Summertrios, please send a tape, CD (no MP3,please) or arrange for a live audition with Lily Friedman, Music Director (212-222-1289). This is for placement only, not for acceptance. It will help us place you in a compatible group. If you are a returning participant and you think your playing has improved substantially, please audition for us again so that we can place you properly.
Music
Acquire and bring ALL the parts for all the music you plan to play. Put your name on all parts; number the measures in all parts.. a boring job, but extremely helpful for getting everyone in a group to start at the same place. Saves a lot of time!

Don’t forget this! Everyone is counting on everyone else to come prepared!
