Week One is for pianists of all levels and for novice, intermediate and advanced string players. We are one of the few camps that welcomes novice string players. The Novice String Program also includes sight reading classes. We greatly enjoy watching our novice players flourish, improving from year to year and eventually moving up to the next level.
Week Two is for pianists of all levels, intermediate and advanced string players, woodwinds and French horns. There are no novices this week. If you, as a pianist, enjoy working with strings, woodwinds and French horns, this is the week for you. Summertrios can also accommodate harp, guitar and trumpet players.
Audition
If you are new to Summertrios, please send a recording of your playing to Music Director Lily Friedman at 885 West End Ave., #11A, New York, NY 10025 or email an MP3 to lilypiano@summertrios.org. You can also arrange for a live audition with her by calling 212-222-1289. This is for placement only, not for acceptance. It will help us place you in a compatible group. If you are a returning participant and you think your playing has improved substantially, please audition for us again so that we can place you properly.
Music
Acquire and bring ALL the parts for all the music you plan to play. Put your name on all parts; number the measures in all parts—a boring job, but extremely helpful for getting everyone in a group to start at the same place. Saves a lot of time!
