Scholarships

 

All partial scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of Summertrios’ need to provide instrumental balance within the chamber music groups, as well as financial need. If selected, scholarship recipients may be asked to provide assistance with social functions and the music library.

 

The Muriel Berke Scholarship. Muriel Berke was a former piano participant at Summertrios whose family continues her legacy in the form of a scholarship. The Berke Scholarship provides partial support, annually, for a string or woodwind player or pianist to attend one week in the Regular Program at Summertrios. Qualifications: applicant must be an advanced player.

 

The Zita Attison Scholarship. An avid supporter of Summertrios, Zita Attison contributed funds for this scholarship for many years, and her friends now continue to do so. The Attison Scholarship provides partial support, annually, for a string or woodwind player to attend one week in Summertrios’ Regular Program. Qualifications: applicant must be an advanced player.

 

The Richard Simon Scholarship. Richard Simon was a New York Philharmonic violinist for many years, and a longtime faculty member at Summertrios. The Simon Scholarship provides partial support annually for a string player towards attending one week in Summertrios’ Regular Program. Qualifications: applicant must be an advanced player.
